Profile of Speakers
RON BENEFIEL pastored LA First Church of the Nazarene for 14 years, where he helped develop a church with four ethnic/language congregations. In San Diego, he worked to develop PLNU's Urban Centre at Mid-City Church of the Nazarene. He has partnered with numerous community and relief agencies, served on the Board of Directors for the Los Angeles Rescue Mission, Union Rescue Mission, and the San Diego Rescue Mission. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Kansas City Rescue Mission, Heart to Heart, International, and Bresee Institute for Metro Ministry, and on the Advisory Committee/or Nazarene Compassionate Ministies.
GUSTAVO CROCKER is the Regional Director for the Church of the Nazarene in Eurasia- He has served as Director of Field Management for Compassion International, Administrative Director of Nazarene Compassionate Ministries International, and two years as Regional Coordinator of Nazarene Compassionate Ministries out of Quito, Ecuador. Dr. Crocker has taught in the areas of Global Missions, Evangelism and Church Planting, Cross-cultural ministry, International Development, International Business, and Social Development.
MICHAEL MATA has designed and organized urban reconciliation ministry for nearly 25 years, with particular focus on community outreach, congregational redevelopment, trans-cultural outreach, leadership development and Latino ministry. He engaged in peace building efforts alter the 1992 riots in LA as well as helped establish CEJR (Christian Empowering for Reconciliation with Justice) a conflict transformation network. He served on the pastoral team at Los Angeles First Church of the Nazarene for 17 years, and is currently the national director of the Tools for Transformation programme through WorldVision.
GLENN JORDAN is a native of Bray, County Wicklow, Ireland, and has lived north of the border since 1987. He is married to Adrienne and they have two young children. He is currently working in inner East Belfast with the Skainos Project, part of East Belfast Mission's urban regeneration project.
